From the age of seven Summer loved singing hymns at school, and was sung lullabies by her father. With the help of her music teacher at school who happened to be a singer she began to learn the art of singing. Music festivals and National competitions throughout her childhood, accompanied with a very humble upbringing and parental support allowed her to grow steadily. In 1999 she achieved second place in the Llangollen International Singer of the Year competition. In the same year, she was awarded the Countess of Munster scholarship to the Royal College of Music, London where she completed a Postgraduate diploma, graduating with distinction. She studied under Graziella Sciutti (San Francisco Opera) and Iris Dell'Acqua (Vocal coach at Decca, Universal). In her final year she organised a debut concert which attracted Elle MacPherson, George Michael and HRH Duke and Duchess of York. Sony Classical went onto to sign her to a £1m contract in 2003. Her solo album "Summer", recorded with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra in London at Abbey Road studios went onto reach No. 2 in the UK Classical Charts and No. 1 in the US Itunes Chart.
